Andorra!!!

I have been waiting for this album all my life. Like all Caribou albums Andorra has its' own style to it, but leaves enough of the past to give you a pleasent feeling of nostalgia. You can feel the warmth of the sun in pyschedelic instrumentation and dream pop vocals. Daniel Snaith has done it again. I find myself revering in the layers samples. If you listen closely each note is tweaked, pitch shifted, or modulated (giving it personality). This fanatical attention to detail and originality is what makes Andorra amazing!

M.Craven

This local Detroit resident creates artwork that should be intergrated into the cloud worlds in Mario as well as children's wallpaper all over the world. His "Heaps" have to be one of the most visually pleasing things to stare at since computer downloading bars were invented. He is having a show Sept. 7th at the Ambassador Coffee House down in Cass Corridor.

Silent Land Time Machine

This one man band out of Austin reminds me alot of the slower songs M83 has done but with a more organic feel to it. It is inspiring to hear a level of intricacy and artistry that has normally been restricted to artists with the money and space to record this type of ambience. Jon plays enough instruments to make Bach himself start drooling like a hungry pitbull with a steak dangled in front of his face. Check out his stuff online. http://www.myspace.com/silentlandtimemachine
